It Isn't Sloping, It's the Blue Angels!

The Navy demonstration team, the Blue Angels, did a couple of shows at the Milwaukee lakefront last weekend. F-18's as PSS?

We went to watch on Wendy's dad's boat, a 34-foot Crusiers. There was a 12-15mph wind so there was some chop onnthe water even in the harbor. Not the ideal camera platform but there were a few good shots.

View from the boat.

There were several performers before the main event. I especially liked the demo by Michael Goulian in the Castrol Cap 232. Didn't get any good pix because the routine was concentrated over the restricted area of the lake but it was a good one. Looked like the plane was about 10 feet off the lake several times!

The Red Baron Squadron did a two plane show early and then a four plane show right before the Blue Angels.

The Blue Angel support plane, Fat Albert did a few fly bys.

Hey, hey, hey! It's Fat Albert!

And the Blue Angels were cool. We were right under the flight path and the power of the F-18s was awesome! Too bad they were flying right past the sun most of the time! Next time they are here I am staking a claim on a rooftop on the bluff over the lake for a better vantage point for photos.

Yep, they get close.

I'm going to hit the EAA show at Oskosh soon so maybe I'll have more airshow pix soon!

Say Bye!
