Coronado Heights

Flying report from Coronado Heights 05/20/01

This slope is located about 3 miles north and a mile west of Lindsburg, KS. It is roughly 4 miles west of I-135 and 14 miles south of Salina, KS. We usually stop there on our way to Wilson Reservoir to get some secluded sloping. The LZ at this site is somewhat intimidating at first so lots of guys will not fly there. This of course is changing now with the emergence of Foamies. I have flown everything from full blown Moldies to foamies off of this site but I have also flown there since the late 70's and know the hill probably better than I know my wife.

Local Pilots

Pat McCleave - Hi, my name is Pat McCleave and I have been sloping KS since the late 70's. Of course my favorite site is Wilson Reservoir in north central Kansas but there are several others that are still quite Spectacular. Pat is working on a couple of other sites. Contact him for the latest info.

If anyone ever wants to do a Kansas Slope Safari let me know, I am sure we would have a great time.
