More Spring Slope Flying in Milwaukee

3 days in a row and 4 out of the last 5, Whooo Hooo. Hope this is a preview of things to come. It figures that as soon as I order a TD plane we get good slope days but I am not complaining.

I went to Atwater about noon right after the Rotor Rooter guy spent 3 hours ridding my lateral of numerous obstructions. I was hoping that it would only take an hour. As it was I arrived at the slope in time to see Dave and Mirko leaving and the wind done. They had been there for a couple of hours. I know Dave flew his Spyder and Mirko his Pixel and Dynamic but don't know what else they flew.

I headed down to the Gun Club Slope but same story there. Oddly, on some days the difference 20 miles up or down the lake shore can make will amaze you. Not today.

So, I went to the shop and got the partially started Higgens Rodent out and resolved to finish it before moving on to other projects. well the JW too since I am going to South Dakota in a few weeks but both should be ready.

After my wife got home I went over to Big Bay and found the wind straight in at about 8mph or so. Good time for the Weasel so I flew that for a whole. Big Bay is a pretty small hill and the slope right in front of the flying area is only a couple of hundred feet  so it is fun flying the Weasel close in. The lift builds out further and flying even 3-meter planes can be no problem but I like being able to reach out and grab the plane sometimes and today was one of those days.

I also flew the Predator Bee. I was curious how it would do in the light air and It flies well. More efficient that I expected. This would have been a very light lift combat day but I'll bet half the planes wouldn't even be flying. Too bad I have to miss the Midwest Slope Challenge this year due to scheduling conflicts. I think the Bee would be a good one for the conditions we normally get there.
