Eli 2 HLG and Light Air Sloper
Posted by Greg Smith on Aug 22, 2003, 22:49

Specifications

Airfoil: 7037 mod
Span: 59.0
Area: 375 Sq in.
Surface loading: 4.25 oz/ft2
Weight: 12oz
Controls: Ailerons, Elevator and Rudder
Radio: 555 receiver, HS-55's in the wing and HS-81's in the fuse.

This plane built up fairly easily. The only gotcha was the center panels were for the polyhedral version. I just used a sharpened brass tube to cut a hole through the core to run the servo wires.

I lessened the dihedral at the panel break since I am using ailerons.

It hand launches OK but it is a bit heavy to be competitive with the current crop of HLGs out there. It makes an excellent light air slope plane though. The control response is good and it will stay up in very light breezes.
